Indie base building survival game

Colony Survival is an indie base building survival game. Construct a village or castle, set tasks for colonists and defend against nightly zombie attacks in this grid based strategy game.

From the ground up

Developed by a team of two, Colony Survival is a simplistic ongoing project currently in Steam's early access system focusing on growing a settlement while defending against daily attacks from hordes of zombies. Construction revolves around a Minecraft-style block grid, allowing for buildings to be personalised and settlements planned for expansion. A basic economy management element, based around creating and refining resources, provides an element of strategy but ultimately falls short in terms of complexity. This lack of overall polish is the main current issue with Colony Survival, with a single play-through of 8 to 10 hours enough to experience everything on offer. As the game is in active development by an engaged team, a much needed increase in content is likely. With these planned expansions and a future full release, the future looks bright.

Good beginning

Colony Survival is an interesting core of a game with a long road ahead. If development continues, then the stripped down building mechanics may provide an in-depth base building experience but it is currently not a great investment.
